The Works Vision
The Problem
- Independent workers have difficulties getting their work done working in 'isolation'.
- Lowered productivity working @ home or from public spaces
- The home or public environment is causing distractions
- Lack of Social Interaction
- Lack of resources and knowledge
- Difficult to develop new business opportunities
- Re-inventing the wheel over and over
There are enough "networking" events but everyone forgets about the "working" part.
How to get your work done AND use your network to create, share or get new business opportunities AND get help from the community or service providers?
The Solution
- Break out of this isolation and spent (a part of) your working time in a collaborative environment (either a coworking space or during casual working events) where the focus is still work but with the option of knowledge sharing, collaboration and business development.
- Attend (or organize yourself) informational events, presentations or workshops on topics interesting for this community (e.g. on productivity, technology, legal/tax issues, international business development, etc.)
The Proposal
- Build a community of independent workers and micro-companies with different backgrounds (e.g web, design, marketing, writers, consultants, translators, etc.)
- Create an online and offline environment where this community can meet, work and share.
The Works
- The first CZ international online and real life Coworking Community promoting sharing knowledge and best practices
- Organizing real life meetings to work (e.g. jellies) and share knowledge and best practices
- To facilitate developing new and international business for the community
About "The Name"
Something that's "in the works" is in development and progressing; a new website is "in the works". We believe in progress and advancement, together.
"The Works" also stands for "Everything, the whole kaboodle; to get a pizza with "the works" means a pizza with everything you want on top.
